Art

This is why I love Twitter...

You know Rain, on The Office? Well, he is on twitter and has a link to his blog, on it I found this video. Now my life has changed, I vow to listen to this every single day!

The lyrics are here.

Meet Sid Krofft

This is a new sweetie available in the shop.

OK, I'm back...

I haven't been blogging in awhile due to....Twitter.

I even go days without checking my emails. I figure, if anyone needs me, they can find me there. Then my best friend, who does not Twitter, said "I didn't know this or that" and I replied, "You would if you tweeted" I realized I was in a bubble. So, I'm trying to do better, and spread myself around...facebook, blogger, twitter, and the occasional myspace. As for the emails...I've got 1352 in my inbox, that could take awhile.

I hope, you too, are enjoying this wonderful weather!

Happy weekend,

The New Deal Fashion Show

I've been accepted into the Handcrafted Market portion of this show. Its being presented by an awesome fashion designer that owns Edge of Urge in Wilmington. It's sure to be a very artsy fartsy day of...well, art...crafts, fashion, and music. I'm super excited! Hopefully "yall" can come out and see me...

I'm having a contest!

Contest is over, Johnson has a new home with a funny girl who names her tissue boxes.
The answer... I named him Johnson because of his color combination...like in Howard Johnsons. It used to be a hotel chain, back in the day. Thanks to those who played, I'll be doing this again soon!

If you can guess WHY I named this Tissue Monster, JOHNSON...you win HIM!

Just post a comment with your answer AND your email so that if you win, I can get your info to send him to you.

So, why do you think I named him Johnson?

Good Luck!

PS I just asked my husband if he knew the answer, he totally didn't. Here's a clue: It has nothing to do with boogers, colds, or bodily fluids.

It's going to be my Cat Sugars and my Cookie Teddy Bear because they are made from upcycled clothing...

How exciting is that???

It's 80 degrees and...

... I haven't sewn a darn thing this weekend! Shoot! But I just can't stay inside. Hope "yall" are enjoying your weekend as well ;)

I am living...

...vicariously through my plush. I said this a few years ago when my plush were being sold in an art gallery in Hawaii. Now, I am saying it again!

Have you seen the first "Traveling Pants" movie? When one of the girls goes to Greece to visit her Grandparents. The Greek Island, all white buildings with blue roofs...that is my dream. I can't say "dream visit" or "dream vacation" because truly, it is more. The day that I arrive there, I am sure to cry, probably for days. I will be an emotional mess, in a good way though, overwhelmed with gratitude, thankful to be submerged in such beauty.

Oh...my plush...this cutie, right here.....
is on his way to Athens, Greece. I know, it's exciting! I'm holding back the "excitement" tears. But I DID do a dance!
Happy weekend!

I love me some Noah Scalin!

Doug and I met him a few summers ago at the Art-o-Mat Convention in Winston-Salem,NC. He was on about day 62 of his Skull-a-day project. He even added a skull he made on that trip to his blog, it's the one made of bed sheets from the motel we all stayed in. During the convention, he and I traded...I got one of his skull tees and he got one of my SkullShies. heehee. It's pictured on his blog too, with all the loot he collected from the trip.
Here is a clip of him appearing on Martha Stewarts Show...I guess I am 1 degree seperated from knowing Martha Stewart...cool.
Happy Valentine's Day!

My Bad

I made the mistake of announcing, "I'm taking down the Christmas tree"

My 7 yo instantly went into tears and gave me a list of reasons why "we can't take it down and put it out in the cold shed for a whole year by itself"

Seriously...the drama.

Happy First Friday 2009!

Well, I guess I'll be taking down the Christmas tree today, and I'm definitely going to take a nap. I've been up since 5:58am, on my day off...plus I was vacuuming at 7am and that just isn't right. So, I will be treating myself with a nap, lets say, right after lunch. The house should be straight by then.

Since the den is going to be less crowded, I am planning on putting up my craft table and cutting out some fun-ness either tonight or in the morning. This is like a light at the end of the tunnel and the thought of it will get me through the after Holiday cleaning.

Also, ECU is playing some important football game today in TN, I may tune into that if I can find it on tv. I can cut fabric and watch football...naaaah, I'm nappin...
