Plush You 2008

The plush show of ALL plush shows opened last weekend at Schmancy in Seattle... "Plush You 2008".

One of my SkullShie's is in the show and it thrills me to death. Here's a peek...

I honestly have so much diffficulty inserting pics... all this weird space shows up, and I have to go back and delete it, and then if I'm not careful I delete a pic ,so then I have to upload the pic again, then the chunks of white space show up again, then I start deleting again and honestly....it's exhausting. So I'm signing off. sheeeesh

SkullShie BeBe Onesies

The fest was a great time, wish it hadn't rained, thanks to everyone who came out!

My next stop out and about will be this Friday for the PirateFest ArtWalk Uptown Greenville. I will be set up out front of Ripple City Artworks from 6-9pm. Then again on Saturday for PirateFest from 11am-8pm. Should be Big Fun!

Tree Hugger Sock Monkey

This is Marley, the tree hugger sock monkey. He is a gentle and caring soul with a spirit that is as free as the wind. He has never met a stranger, and though he is a bit quiet...he can talk your arm off...especially if the conversation turns to global warming or his vegan lifestyle.

OK,blogging has begun...

I'm just gonna start, no need to blah blah blah about why I have a blog...

I am best known as an artist/designer for the SkullShie's I have been making for about 2 yrs now. So when I recently started making sock monkeys and vintage inspired teddy bears it was weird for everyone involved. Why?



A couple months ago when my Mom was visiting I was showing her my etsy shop and she asked why my SkullShie's were listed as "toys". Aaaah, good question, especially from a Mom who doesn't know about Plush, DIY, indie, etc. My Skulls are Plush, but can you play with them and snuggle with them like a "toy"? Well, yes, my 6 yr old does. However, they do fall more toward the art on the wall side. This kinda made me sad to realize cause I consider myself a toymaker, a Plush Designer...I LOVE Plush. So am I really a plush designer?

HELL YEAH!

But I knew that I wanted to make more hands on, lovey creatures like the stuffed animals I have obsessed over
all of my entire life. That is where I am right now, learning and experimenting so that I can create more wonderfulness... i mean "fun-ness" :)

I am hoping that my "people", especially my collectors, understand that I will always be their SkullShie girl, and there will be many more SkullShie's made.

Now, I am off to make the cutest teddy, Lil has already named her "Cookie", I should have her posted on etsy tonight.
